2025 SpayVA Grant Process

 

Grant Application DEADLINE February 7, 2025

SpayVA is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for spay/neuter grants to be given out during our annual conference in April. The deadline to apply is February 7th at 5:00 pm. NO late applications will be considered.

 

The goal of the SpayVA Grants is to reduce shelter intake and euthanasia by funding local spay/neuter efforts. Overall priority is given to applicants who serve under-performing/under-resourced areas of the state. Additionally, applications from previous award recipients will be scored based upon the applicant’s history of complying with grant requirements, such as timely reporting. The grant application has been simplified and may be accessed by this google form link:  SpayVA Grant Application

Grant Requirements:

  • Be a current 2025 Organizational member in good standing with the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies. (Dues paid and current application on file).

  • Established spay/neuter program or beginning a spay/neuter program such that funding can be used in 2025.

  • Application Deadline is 2/7/25 at 5:00 PM (no late applications will be accepted).

  • All Applications must be completed on the google form (please do not mail or email applications).

  • Established grant amount of $75.00/cat and $150.00/dog for spay/neuter surgeries (If amount of surgery exceeds this per animal, organization must have the capacity to fund the remainder through co-pays or fundraising).

  • Provide one final report by 10/31/25 on how the funds were used (template will be provided from SpayVA).  Failure to provide reports by the deadline may make your organization ineligible for future grant award 

In addition provide

  • Pictures of animals helped through the grant.

  • Short blurb for SpayVA grant report/newsletter.

 

The Virginia Federation of Humane Societies is inviting submissions for speakers for the 2025 VFHS Conference taking place at the Hotel Madison in Harrisonburg, VA on April 2-4.  Please complete the Call for Speakers Google form for consideration by the conference committee.  

This annual gathering is the state’s largest and most well-attended conference for animal welfare professionals and volunteers. The workshop sessions are generally 1 hour but may be adjusted as needed. The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2024.
